Dr. Caroline H. Henderzahs
DDS, MSD (Periodontist)
Dr. Henderzahs is an Indiana native; she grew up in Noblesville and studied psychology and business at Hanover College. While earning her bachelor’s degree at Hanover, she played soccer and was a member of Phi Mu women’s fraternity before beginning her journey in dentistry at the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD). After earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from IUSD, Dr. Henderzahs also completed her postdoctoral training at IU where she earned a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree, majoring in periodontology and minoring in oral pathology. During her postgraduate training, she conducted research on metabolic pathways associated with periodontal health and periodontitis and how these pathways may be used for early disease detection, a topic that continues to shape her evidence-based approach to your clinical care. Since graduating, Dr. Henderzahs remains actively involved at IUSD, serving as an adjunct clinical assistant professor in the pre-doctoral clinics and continuing her research.
With advanced training in periodontal surgery, bone regeneration, and implant placement, Dr. Henderzahs works closely with each patient to design treatment plans tailored to your unique needs and goals. Whether restoring gum health, rebuilding lost bone, or replacing missing teeth, she is committed to delivering care that improves your oral health and overall well-being. Dr. Henderzahs takes pride in helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles by combining clinical expertise with a compassionate and personalized approach that focuses on comfort, communication, and patient-centered care.
Dr. Henderzahs loves animals (ask her about her dog!), the outdoors, the tv show FRIENDS, and Celine Dion. She cheers for Notre Dame football and IU basketball and finds the most joy in her personal relationships, spending time with her spouse, Shawn, and her family and friends.
Dr. Henderzahs is an active member of several local and national organizations and regularly participates in continuing education to stay at the forefront of advances in surgical and regenerative dentistry. Above all, Dr. Henderzahs strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.
